On Bike to Work Day, thousands in the DC Metro area will leave their car at home and come together as a community to try biking. Join the fun and register for the Bike to Work Day Pit Stop! We’re  answering some of the most frequently asked questions about the event to help you plan your day.

When is Bike to Work Day?

Thursday, May 15, 2025.

Where are my closest pit stops?

Luckily you have three different pit stops to choose from in the Tysons area. Two in the morning, and one brand new pit stop in the afternoon.

Morning Pit Stops:
Tysons Springhill Metro Station (7:00 – 9:30 AM)
Tysons Corner Center (6:30 – 10:00 AM)

Afternoon Pit Stop (BRAND NEW!):
The Boro Tysons (4:00 – 6:00 PM)

What do I get for participating?

Each pit stop will have free food, giveaways and more provided by local businesses, retailers, and restaurants to celebrate Bike to Work Day. Choose your pit stop and register to receive the annual Bike to Work Day t-shirt.

Why bike to work?

Commuting by bike promotes physically active and sustainable lifestyle. Plus, you’ll save a lot of money compared to other modes of transportation!

What if I don’t own a bike?

Try Capital Bikeshare from one of two docking stations located at The Boro! Single rides are available starting at $0.05 per minute. You can also purchase 24-hour passes and annual memberships.

How many people participate?

Last year, as many as 18,500 people participated in Bike to Work Day across the region. There’s a lot more fun to be had this year, so don’t miss it.

Do I have to bike to the pit stop?

Not at all! Whether you’re just curious about biking or looking to get started, we’ll have plenty of information and resources to help. Come by and enjoy this fun and exciting community event!
